Turkey group after a successful eclipse, 2006

On March 29, 2006 a group of 32 people traveling with Sirius Travel made their way into Turkey's Cappadocia region to view a total eclipse of the sun. 3 minutes and 37 seconds of totality and with clear skies, we saw an incredibly beautiful and colorful eclipse! Combined with a great group of people to observe with made for a fantastic experience. Here are the photos from this eclipse trip. We hope you enjoy them!

A 550x550 window will appear in the upper right corner. Resize your browser to be able to see it continuously.

Notes:
The feature that I noticed most about this eclipse was the Chromosphere (or "Ring of Color"). Through a telescope the prominances provided a spectacular show for the duration of the event.

Also, Sirius guide Ralph Shuping has set up a website with many of the images that he took while on the tour. Please click here to visit if you are interested. The images of his posted below are low-res versions of the images on his website.
